Continuous Motion Development
Online proposal development for the Green Party of Canada
ATTENTION: This space currently available for testing purposes only. Please do not submit proposals until this warning has been removed.
This space is where you will start new proposals. We expect to begin accepting new proposals after the current round of proposals is finished, likely sometime during the autumn 2024.
Before you begin, review the Membership Approved Green Policy Book (log in to the GPC website) to determine if you are updating an existing policy, discontinuing a policy, or creating a new policy. Now you are ready to start the Continuous Motion Development (CMD) journey!
CMD starts when a member creates a collaborative draft in (1A) Drafting Area and works with fellow members and proposal shepherds to develop it. The draft should align with our Green Values, be well-written, thoroughly researched, and meet submission and drafting requirements. Once the draft is ready for sponsorship, it is promoted to a proposal and moves to (1B) Create. Make sure you sign in to WeDecide and follow the steps below.
(1A) Access Drafting Area
- Click on (1A) Access Drafting Area to create a collaborative draft or look at collaborative drafts created by fellow members.
- To create a collaborative draft, click on New collaborative draft. Fill out the form, select a category & click Continue. Your collaborative draft is now posted!
- To view collaborative drafts, click on (1A) Access Drafting Area and then click on the title of a collaborative draft card.
a. To post a comment, scroll down to Add Your Comment and enter your feedback.
b. If you want to work with the creator, click on Edit Collaborative Draft to request the permission to edit the draft. - When the collaborative draft is ready to seek sponsors, the creator clicks Publish. The Collaborative Draft moves into the (1B) Create area and becomes a proposal.
(1B) Create

a. All changes to a proposal’s wording is now done by clicking on propose change.
b. Members may post comments, and propose changes.
c. The proposal submitter either accepts or rejects proposed changes. If a submitter rejects proposed wording changes, a rationale should be posted in the Add Your Comment section at the bottom of the proposed change card. All proposed changes must be addressed for a proposal to move forward.
d. Members can sponsor a proposal by clicking on the Sponsor button - Proposals have 90 days to obtain the required number of sponsors. Sponsor requirements are listed here.
a. If a proposal does not obtain the required number of sponsors within 90 days, it will be withdrawn and may be resubmitted to (1) Create after 6 months. - When the proposal is ready for a Workshop, the submitter emails the proposal shepherds and requests a workshop. The proposal moves to (2) Workshop
