G23-P005 Declaration of Allyship with Indigenous Peoples
Whereas; the Doctrine of Discovery is invalid, racist, and oppressive, and
Whereas, the GPC has called for the repudiation of the Doctrine of Discovery because it impacts on Indigenous sovereignty and disallows for the free and full expression of sovereign Indigenous rights, and
Whereas, the GPC through numerous policies has expressed support for Indigenous rights, title and sovereignty,
Therefore Be It Resolved that the GPC will publicly issue a national statement that the GPC offers itself as a public champion and ally to Indigenous people.
