19th General Meeting
"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it." - Robert Swann
I'm excited to invite you to register for the upcoming Annual General Meeting taking place February 24-25, 2024. This will be our second virtual General Meeting, which means that you join us from anywhere in Canada to discuss the motions that members have put forth.
We are once again offering a pay-what-you-can registration fee to ensure accessibility.
Volunteers make our events possible, please consider joining the GM organizing team!
We look forward to seeing you in November!
Chair, General Meeting Committee
President, Federal Council
Green Party of Canada
The agenda for the General Meeting will include but is not limited to:
- Call to order and welcome remarks.
- Approval of the minutes of the previous general meeting.
- Presentation of reports of GPC Units, including audited financial statements from the GPC Fund.
- A motion to move the GPC Policy Proposal Development to an entirely online process.
- Discussion and approval of member Constitutional, By-Law and Directive Proposals and Policy Proposals.
Proposals are available online. You are invited to review the official proposals, which are fixed for the 60 day review period. For the first time, members can also participate in workshopping (commenting on and shaping) those proposals for 60 days, something that has only been done in-person at the General Meetings in the past. Now you can do this at home!
The General Meeting will also include a motion to move Policy Proposals (but not Constitutional Amendments & Bylaws or Directives) into an offline process as a part of our evolution to Continuous Motion Development. The proposal will be submitted to members at the General Meeting for discussion and approval.
