Fairness in political donations
Proposal text
Whereas many citizens do not have disposable income to influence politics with a donation, and whereas the Green party of Canada believes each citizen should have equal financial influence over the Canadian political system:
Be it resolved that the Green party of Canada favours a political donation system that allows each citizen exclusively an annual fixedgovernment funded donation to their party or electoral district Association of choice. An additional donation to an electoral candidate of choice will be an option for each citizen. The assignment of funds process must be secure and transparent.
This motion recognizes that the link between an individual's political influence and monetary status must be diminished for the good of the democratic process.

List any supporting evidence for your proposal
Equality and Inclusivity: The current political donation system primarily benefits individuals or groups with disposable income, creating an unequal playing field. By providing an equal government-funded donation to every citizen, regardless of their financial status, the proposed system promotes equality and inclusivity in the political process.
Amplifying Diverse Voices: Financial constraints often prevent marginalized groups and individuals with lower incomes from participating see attached
Does this proposal affect any particular group and what efforts have been made to consult with the group or groups?
There is not enough space in *evidence* field. WHat to do? Also 50 word limit violates bylaws and hobbles my motion.
Jurisdiction: Is this proposal under federal jurisdiction?
Yes
Please indicate the language the proposal is being submitted in.

It is not about the individual donor buying influence, which would be illegal but likely still happens when a organized collective pools people to donate. It is about people as a class with * disposable income* or _rich_ and * similar politics* on aggregate give donations adding up to to very large sums which moves their political vector. Hypothetically 10,000 donations of $1000 each is a billion dollars for a political party. The political party is obliged to respect the wishes of the donor or the donations may stop. That is a reason wealthy conservatives donate and end up with leaders like Harper constantly demanding tax cuts for their Conservative party donor class. By making each citizen equal in political financing power, we level the playing field with fairness in political donations.
