2023 Federal and Young Greens Council Elections
Electing the representatives of the Green Party of Canada's members
Jaden Braves
My work with the Greens involves an ongoing quest to tackle issues such as Environmental Exploitation and Sustainable Agriculture. I believe that the Youth Wing has the capacity to be instrumental in addressing environmental problems, because it is my generation who will be left to solve the environmental degradation issues, that we are inheriting from generations who came before us.
I believe that Young Greens requires strong leadership from a young person. Young people are the future because we have the biggest stake in the game. A young person's input is pivotal to not only thinking through the issues our world will face, but also to consider how Canada should be a leader in the debate on solving our current and future environmental problems. I believe in order to systematically progress federal council, we must honor the dichotomy between progression and environmental advocacy on the board.
I am committed to dedicating my time to creatively and cleverly finding sustainable solutions for the future of our earth and nation. As a Temagami tripper, with over 500 kilometers of paddling under his belt, I believe the campsite adage, "leave the site better than how you found it". Thinking in this manner may be the first step to moving toward practical and realistic politically driven solutions that can change our relationship to our environment.
