Constitutional Renewal Commission
Responsible for Developing a Proposal for the next Constitution of the Green Party of Canada
About this organization
The Constitutional Renewal Commission (CRC) aims to update the GPC's constitution and bylaws to make the GPC more effective and better reflect its values and principles.
To that end, the CRC shall seek to bring clarity to the Party’s values, governance structure (main units) and their respective powers and responsibilities. Thus, the main task of the CRC shall be to address any issue in the constitution and bylaws, whether it be in the form of errors, contradictions, ambiguities, inconsistencies (both within single language documents and between French and English versions of these), repetitions or lacunae/missing parts.
G21-D001 Establish a Constitution Renewal Commission
The CRC will analyze, consult with members and relevant experts, and formulate possible changes to the constitution and bylaws of the GPC. The detailed methodology shall be determined by the CRC. The CRC shall conduct its work based on the six core values of the GPC, work in an inclusive, equitable and transparent manner, and support the participation of all groups that have historically been excluded.
