Hi Amélie-Mikasa,
Thank you for your question!
In this leadership race, we have been blessed to have many qualified members stepping forward to lead the Green Party of Canada.
In order to move forward united, it will be absolutely essential that we retain all the talented candidates and ensure they have a meaningful place to contribute to the growth of the party.
Anna and I are so excited at the opportunity to support Elizabeth’s work in the House of Commons as the leader of our parliamentary caucus. Elizabeth is known to be one of the best parliamentarians in Canadian history, and it will be an honour to support her work as she focuses on pushing forward Green policies alongside Mike Morris.
Jonathan speaks passionately about the challenges that face our world. We look forward to continuing to work with him on our Shadow cabinet, where we will be able to benefit from his experience and knowledge on issues related to international affairs.
Throughout this campaign, Simon has shown us his ability to bring in the perspective of French Canadians and Quebecers, he has also spoken passionately about environmental policies. We look forward to working with him to continue the work of building a strong base in Québec, and we hope to continue working with him as a part of our Shadow Cabinet.
Throughout this campaign, Sarah has held us to our grassroots principles and frequently reminded us that we need to do more to show that we value our grassroots volunteers who do so much to keep this party alive. Anna and I look forward to working with Sarah in developing ways to better engage with our members in a continuous policy process.
Anna and I are experienced team-builders. We know that the challenges ahead of us cannot be addressed by us alone. It will take all of our combined efforts to rebuild the party and help elevate it to occupy a central place in Canadian politics.
Anna and I have bold plans to take our party to the next level. From our capacity-building program called the “Green Leaders Network”, to our plans to open up access to committees on the council, and the reforms to our constitution. The vision that Anna and I share for the Green Party of Canada is one of increased democratic processes that allow us to work smarter rather than harder by including as many people as possible in the process.
We know that in order to truly renew our party, all of us will have to take responsibility for getting results.
Mike Morrice** (apologies Mike!)
