- Whereas, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the human rights
- situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), and the Israeli human rights groups
- B’Tselem and Yesh Din have all stated that Israel is committing the crime of apartheid, which is the
- second worst crime against humanity (after genocide), and And whereas Israel’s policies such as
- forced evictions, home demolitions, and separation of Palestinian families across all territories
- under its control amount to apartheid, and And whereas the Special Rapporteur on the Situation of
- Human Rights in OPT stated that the political system of entrenched rule in the occupied Palestinian
- territory satisfied the prevailing evidentiary standard for the existence of apartheid.
- Therefore Be it Resolved that the Green Party of Canada hereby acknowledges and declares Israel to
- be an apartheid state and calls on Israel to end its human rights abuses against the people of
- Palestine.
