Prior to the official opening of the 19th Green Party Annual General Meeting at 2:00 PM ET, Mike Morrice, Green Party MP for Kitchener Centre, will address membership, and introduce guest speakers Manvi Bhalla, Enya Fang, and Jacqueline Lee-Tam.
Official opening of the 19th Green Party of Canada’s Annual General Meeting. The proceedings will commence with a land acknowledgement. General Meeting Co-Chair Natalie Odd, Federal Council President, and General Meeting Co-Chair, Vincent Charbonneau, Federal Council Vice President-French will give the opening remarks and present the motion to officially open the general meeting.
Review of Zoom Webinar, the general meeting’s code of conduct, and how to access the support of the safety team.
The Key Procedures Plenary appoints members to serve in meeting roles, and establishes meeting agreements and the procedures used to govern decision-making, the conduct of members, and the presentation, debate, and amendment of motions during the general meeting. Membership will vote on a motion to close the call for Emergency Motions. A presentation and motion to move policy consideration outside the general meeting will also be presented.
If required, the business of the Key Procedures Plenary will extend into the Governance Proposals Plenary at 6:30 PM ET.
Natalie Odd, Federal Council President and Kevin Dunbar, Executive Director of the Green Party of Canada, will present recommendations and a motion pertaining to the Ombuds and Appeals Committee.

Elizabeth May is one of Canada’s best known parliamentarians and a life-long environmental advocate. Elizabeth is currently the Parliamentary Leader of the Green Party of Canada, and represents the southern Vancouver Island riding of Saanich-Gulf Islands on the territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation.
This plenary is expected to focus on governance proposals. The order of consideration will be determined in Plenary # 1. Governance proposals are usually presented in the following order: directives to council, bylaw amendments, then constitutional amendments in the order of percentage of green ballots from highest to lowest as determined by the Bonser Method. Each proposal presented for consideration will be discussed, debated, and possibly amended before undergoing a deciding vote to adopt the proposal. This plenary will also include a discussion and a motion that the four co-leadership constitutional amendments be scheduled consecutively and debated as a group due to the overlapping content of these proposals.
The Proposal Plenary will continue on Sunday February 25th at 4:15 PM ET.
Day One of the 19th General Meeting will be adjourned.

Jaden Braves, one of the two current Co-Chairs of the Young Greens of Canada, will address membership and introduce guest speakers Celine Isimbi, Aliénor Rougeot and Victor Yin.
Day Two of the 19th Green Party of Canada’s Annual General Meeting will be officially opened by Co-Chair Natalie Odd and Co-Chair Vincent Charbonneau. A brief review of Zoom Webinar, the general meeting’s code of conduct, and how to access the support of the safety officer will be provided. Kevin Dunbar, Executive Director of the Green Party of Canada, will address membership.
Emergency Motions are motions of an emergency nature that are moved from the floor of the General Meeting. To be accepted for consideration, an emergency motion needs ⅔ of the members present and voting to agree to consider the motion. Once accepted for consideration, each emergency motion will be debated and possibly amended before a deciding vote is held to adopt the motion.

This Plenary is expected to consider the remaining governance proposals in the order of percentage of green ballots from highest to lowest received in the Bonser Method. Each proposal presented for consideration will be discussed, debated and possibly amended before undergoing a deciding vote to adopt the proposal. If needed, the Governance Proposal Plenary will continue on Sunday, February 25th at 6:30 PM ET. Time permitting, policy proposals may be presented for consideration.
