- This proposal aims to modify the constitution in order to allow for the possibility of
- co-leadership, and to ensure that if members vote to allow co-leadership, no one can become leader
- or co-leader without having been elected to that position, in conformity with the Green party's
- dedication to participatory democracy.
- This proposal amends the definition of Leader in Article 7 Official Standing and Definitions as
- follows:
- 7.1.2 Leader: the Member or members elected to the position of leader or co-leader or appointed by
- Federal Council to the position of interim leader in accordance to Bylaw 2.1.8, and filed Leader
- pursuant to the Canada Elections Act. If there are two elected co-leaders, they will collaborate
- with Federal Council to determine who among them is filed Leader pursuant to the Canada Elections
- Act.

Note des accompagnateurs et accompagnatrices de la proposition: Cette proposition est l'une des quatre propositions constitutionnelles modifiées et l'une des propositions de directive sur la direction conjointe. Le Comité du processus d'élaboration des politiques recommande d'examiner les commentaires affichés par les membres du Parti vert du Canada et les accompagnateurs et accompagnatrices sous chaque proposition de la direction conjointe dans l'atelier Décidons: D001 C001 C002 C003 C004
Cette proposition vise à modifier la constitution afin de permettre la possibilité de co-chefferie et de garantir que si les membres votent pour autoriser la co-chefferie, personne ne peut devenir chef ou co-chef sans avoir été élu à ce poste, conformément à l'attachement du Parti vert à la démocratie participative.
Cette proposition modifie la définition du terme « chef » à l'article 7 « Statut officiel et définitions » comme suit :
7.1.2 Chef : le ou les membres élus au poste de chef ou de co-chef ou nommés par le Conseil fédéral au poste de chef intérimaire conformément à l'article 2.1.8, et chef désigné en vertu de la Loi électorale du Canada. S'il y a deux co-chefs élus, ils collaboreront avec le Conseil fédéral pour déterminer lequel d'entre eux est le chef désigné en vertu de la Loi électorale du Canada.
