The Green Party of Canada will consider a Single Member Party Proportional Voting system alongside other Proportional Representation systems, and that a nation-wide Citizen’s Assembly will be held on democratic reform and will include presentations on all Proportional Representation systems.

Colin, I just read a presentation on SMPP https://openparliament.ca/committees/electoral-reform/42-1/27/grant-orchard-1/ as well as the PDF you provided. If I understand this correctly this would mean that 3 GPC MP's with a (hypothetical) 1.33 of a vote each would see 4 votes counted when they all voted? Where as 3 Liberals with a (hypothetical) 0.33 would see a 1 vote counted when they all voted...? I can see fractional numbers which would need to addressed, I assume they would be rounded off? Regardless, it does seem like a simple solution that would result in proportional representation. it is far simpler than MMP...and far more fair than Ranked Ballots.
